Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the concern and energy around students’ mental health & emotional well-being is at its highest level, and we understand that schools are looking for support and guidance.
The agency has created, Project Restore (https://www.texasprojectrestore.org/ ) which is a trauma-informed training video series. This video series connects educators to relevant science and strategies that can help them address the emotional needs of their students, themselves, their colleagues, and students’ families. This informative, engaging, and interactive series will help educators create an environment that jump starts teaching and learning and drives student achievement. All videos are created with a COVID-19 lens and include support for both in-person and remote instruction.
Educators receive CPE units for each video and viewing all six videos also fulfills the SB 11 requirement of grief and trauma-informed training.
Each video is about 30-40 minutes long with a quiz at the end of each and a certificate to print. There are 6 videos.
5. Sex Trafficking Training.
The Bridge 2022-23 Online Mandated Reporter Training has been launched with updated content and a fresh new look. Along with a general training for all mandated reporters to meet the requirements set forth by the Texas Family Code and the Texas Department of Education, the training now includes insight from local forensic interviewers as well as relevant local news articles and videos.
The course is divided into five lessons. Lessons include how to recognize neglect, emotional abuse, physical abuse, sexual abuse, and child sex trafficking. The course will also teach users how to respond appropriately to a child’s outcry and how to make a report to the proper authorities. The user will be guided through each step. Users can pause at any time and return to pick up where they left off. The course will end with a survey as well as a Certificate of Completion that may be printed or saved.
